Features

The Taggiasca Monocultivar extra virgin olive oil is made from 100% Italian olives. It is produced with one single cultivar of olives, which guarantees purity as well as enhanced taste and fragrance. Taggiasca, the name of the olive cultivar, originates from Taggia, a municipality in Liguria and, more specifically, in the province of Imperia. Here, the Benedictine monks contributed to the spreading of this variety several centuries ago: first, in the area of Taggia and, later, in the whole western Ligurian Riviera. Nowadays, the Taggiasca variety is grown in lower quantities compared to other olive cultivars. Nonetheless, being recognized as a top-quality table olive, it is one of the most renowned and sought-after varieties in the world. Its delicate taste makes it the ideal matching for any dish, and it is perfect to season white meat, steamed crustaceans, and grilled salmon or swordfish.
